In software development there is this concept known as “mobile first”. The premise is that more people access the internet via their mobile devices than a PC. That being said you should design your web app for use on mobile devices first before working on your PC version. Goomzee strikes me as one of the first to truly think this way.
They’ve recently updated their corporate website and have announced a “complete mobile solution”. The big news here is the ability use QR codes for lead capture. Missoula, Montana – January 11th, 2011 – Goomzee Corporation, a leading provider of mobile technology solutions for real estate professionals, announced today it has released the real estate industry’s first all-in-one mobile marketing and lead capture solution that includes 2-way Text Message marketing, QR Code marketing with lead capture, and Branded Mobile IDX.
Goomzee’s product offering includes its industry-leading Text Message Marketing Platform, Realty Connect, which is currently available to over 120,000 REALTORs through its growing MLS and REALTOR Association partnerships. Their new product suite now includes a patent-pending system for incorporating QR Codes into mobile marketing while providing lead capture, an industry first. Goomzee’s new Branded Mobile IDX solution is already being piloted by some of America’s largest multiple listing services in Arizona, Texas and Florida.

A QR (Quick Response) Code is a 2-dimensional barcode designed in 1994 by a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation. It allowed the company to add square, 2-dimensional barcodes to items and quickly scan them. The standard was offered royalty free and has recently been embraced by marketers globally to promote their companies and brands. Consumers can download free barcode scanner applications for most of today’s popular mobile devices. They can use these applications to recognize and decipher the contents of the barcode, which most commonly encodes a website address, or URL.
“With technologies like QR Codes, one common problem was that it merely redirected consumers to a web link but did not offer lead capture to create more sales opportunities for marketers. Our engineers designed a unique method of device and user identification that verifies leads and generates lead alerts when QR Codes are scanned without requiring an app download to track leads. Within seconds the buyer receives listing information, pricing and photos via Text Message or Mobile Property Page. At the same time, the agent receives lead alerts either via email or text message. Agents can then follow up directly from their phone, or they can log into their Administration Website and monitor lead activity or interact with contacts from any web-enabled computer.
