Where Real Estate Gets Its Dirt

MREDpalooza registrations approaching 5,000

This is going to be HUGE! 5,000 is a big ass number. Most tech conferences don’t get this many agents, and certainly no state association trade shows that I know of. Hell, most real estate franchisor shows would love this kind of response.

The biggest single sales day I’ve ever had as a vendor was at an event put on by Russ (remember the Pond in Anaheim?). No pressure!

One of the reasons I started this blog was to be a resource to other vendors to share what events gave you the best bang for your buck. Well MRED isn’t giving you a bang, they are giving you a BOOM!

Super excited about next week. Chicago here I come!

C.A.R. protects its form turf from dotloop

US’s largest Realtor association to dotloop: ‘Hands off our forms’

The California Association of Realtors (CAR), the largest state Realtor association in the U.S. and owner of forms software provider zipLogix, has told the transaction management software provider dotloop that users cannot fill out the association’s copyrighted forms using dotloop’s software. – See more at: http://www.inman.com/2013/06/06/uss-largest-realtor-association-to-dotloop-other-competitors-hands-off-our-forms/#sthash.0vdahjH7.dpuf

A bit of background from a previous post and more good reporting from Paul Hagey at Inman News. This is a massive speed bump for dotloop. As to the question of whether or not this move stifles innovation, obviously it does.

But without massive pressure from their members it seems unlikely C.A.R. will license their forms anytime soon. I’ve heard some suggest that dotloop might take legal action, but at their current burn rate I would seriously doubt it.

I’ve heard of the Tennessee Waltz, but the Tennessee Shake?

Cloud CMA introduces Interactive CMA presentations

Cloud Interactive CMA - More Photos w:handI’m very proud to announce a new enhancement to Cloud CMA, interactive CMAs. Optimized for the iPad Cloud CMA customers now have the ability to “present” their CMA reports on a tablet.

We spent a great deal of time thinking about the best way real estate professionals could use an iPad at a listing presentation. Some apps try to jam as much information on each page, making the information impossible to read or understand. Since we view this as a complement to our existing Cloud CMA reports we were free to focus on design that highlights the key parts of a CMA. Key to this was an easy to read format, that helps the presenter show comps in a fun and entertaining way. Check out this short video we made highlighting some of its features.

Screen Shot 2013-06-05 at 6.42.08 AMThis is a free enhancement to all Cloud CMA customers and is available today. Since it’s web-based agents can also share their presentations by just sending their clients a email with a link.

If you want to learn a bit more about how it works, and see another promo video please visit W&R Studios’ blog Lightning|Twice. My thanks to the entire team at W&R Studios, they really knocked it out of the park.

Trulia building Google Glass consumer app

Via Inman News

“The app, Trulia for Glass, will prompt Glass to notify users when they’re near a home that meets their search criteria, let them see listing details and images by sliding their finger along the Glass headset, or listen to the device “read” out a property description”

How is this better than just looking at your iPhone?
